Blue Cross Blue Shield Ends Coverage with Southwestern Health Resources in North Texas
Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas (BCBSTX) has ended its contract with Southwestern Health Resources, affecting several local facilities, including Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Denton. Over two dozen hospitals, surgery centers, and imaging facilities are impacted by this change. BCBSTX members in Denton County who use these services must find new providers to remain in-network. Emergency services will still be covered in-network for life-threatening conditions. Members with upcoming procedures should contact BCBSTX for further details. (Dallas Morning News)
Community Updates:
Flower Mound Zoning Request Denied: The Flower Mound Planning and Zoning Commission recently denied a request for a zoning change that would have moved unbuilt residential units in Lakeside and added businesses along FM 2499. The change aimed to create a more walkable, community-focused area, but without approval, the project will proceed with automobile-centered developments. The Town Council will review the decision on April 7. (Cross Timbers Gazette)
