Let’s make the most of this weekend, Denton County!

Design Competition: Denton Courthouse LAST CHANCE

Here’s the deal: We’re creating a trucker hat featuring the "Denton Courthouse on the Square," and we want your design! Whether it’s a quick sketch or a polished masterpiece, we’re excited to see your creativity.

We’ve already received 10 amazing submissions and are extending the deadline to March 12th, 2025, at 9:00 PM CST to allow for a few more designs. We’ll pick our favorites, share them in next week’s newsletter, and then the community will vote for the winner. The designer will receive a cash prize, a big hug, a hat, and the ultimate bragging rights. Keep those designs coming!

Submit your designs via the form or to [email protected] by Wednesday (3/12/25) at 9 PM CST. Excited to see what y'all can cook up!

Food Quest Update: Burger Quest LAST CALL!

We've gotten some amazing burger suggestions so far, but the Burger Quest isn’t over yet! Keep sending in your top picks as we continue our hunt for Denton’s best burgers. Stay tuned for more updates coming your way soon! Here are some of your top burger recommendations (in no particular order): Burgers and Brats, Burger Time Machine, LSA, RG Burger, Dusty’s Bar, Fetas, Denton Independent Hamburger, Frosty’s, Power House Burger, Jakes, Rooster's Roadhouse, Rodeo Goat, Slap Burger Bar, Portillo’s, RT's, MooYah. If your favorite spot isn’t listed, be sure to let us know so we can include it in the quest!

Sally Beauty Relocates Headquarters From Denton to Plano

Sally Beauty Holdings, a major retailer that has been based in Denton for the past 40 years, is moving its headquarters to the Legacy West area of Plano. The company joins a growing list of high-profile businesses in North Texas, including Toyota Motor North America, PepsiCo, and JPMorgan Chase. Sally Beauty plans to make the move later this year, following other relocations like KFC's recent shift from Louisville to Plano. The company also recently launched a new beauty concept, Happy Beauty Co., which aims to meet rising demand for affordable, high-quality beauty products across the Dallas-Fort Worth area. (CBS News)

  • Argyle Town Council Discusses New Commercial Building and Nature Trail: The Argyle Town Council is exploring plans for a new commercial building and a nature trail on four acres of land along Hwy 377, south of Cook St. The proposed trail aims to connect the community with a central gathering place while preserving the area's natural beauty. A new ice cream parlor is also in the works, with incentives to help maintain Argyle's small-town charm. (Cross Timbers Gazette)

  • Hillwood Announces 349-Unit Luxury Multifamily Community: A new 349-unit luxury multifamily community, including 259 apartments and 90 townhomes, is coming to southern Denton County, marking the first of its kind in Argyle ISD. The development will be walking distance from Harvest Town Center and is expected to start leasing in early 2026. This project will provide much-needed housing options in one of the fastest-growing regions in North Texas, with resort-style amenities such as a pool, fitness center, dog park, and EV charging stations.
