New Local Business Openings Around Denton

Denton County is expanding with some exciting new businesses! Here are a few upcoming spots you won’t want to miss:

  • Glo Tanning Salon: Glo Tanning Salon is now open at 2215 South Loop 288, Suite 320, Denton, TX 76205. In addition to tanning services, they offer red light therapy and Wellsystem Wave heated water pressure massages, with special promotions for new customers. (Denton Record-Chronicle)

  • Dave's Hot Chicken: The popular spicy chicken chain, Dave's Hot Chicken, opened in early December at 2710 W. University Drive #1040, Denton, TX 76201. Downtown Denton Gets a Sweet Makeover
This February, Denton’s downtown area is embracing the spirit of Valentine's Day with a vibrant display of heart-shaped candy decorations. The city has partnered with 16 local businesses to set up life-sized heart candies throughout the area, encouraging visitors to explore, shop, and enjoy the charming atmosphere of downtown. These colorful displays are designed to bring some seasonal cheer to the community and make it easy for residents and visitors alike to discover everything Denton has to offer.

In addition to the candy heart displays, several fun events are taking place this month, including family-friendly dances and community gatherings. Whether you’re taking photos with the heart decorations or attending a local event, February is a great time to support Denton’s small businesses and enjoy the festive vibe downtown.

  • Boil Water Notice in Lewisville: A boil water notice has been issued for nearly 80% of customers in Lewisville due to a water main break. The city is advising residents in affected areas to boil water for at least two minutes before consumption. The notice is expected to last for several days, and city officials are working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. Updates will be provided through local channels.

  • Denton Parks & Recreation: Spring Preparations and Events: Denton Parks & Recreation is preparing for an exciting season of spring events and activities.
