New Local Business Openings Around Denton
Denton County is expanding with some exciting new businesses! Here are a few upcoming spots you won’t want to miss:
Our Place Bar & Grill: Now open at 1105 E. University Drive, Our Place Bar & Grill brings a new spot for beer, wings, pizza, and more. Owned by the team behind Metzler’s Food & Beverage, this casual eatery offers a laid-back atmosphere with great food and drinks. (Denton Record Chronicle)
Hemlock Fox: A unique, witchy-themed bar has arrived in downtown Denton at 116 N. Austin St. Hemlock Fox serves up creative mocktails in an enchanting setting, with plans to add alcohol once its liquor license is secured. The bar remains committed to being a sober-inclusive space for all to enjoy. (Denton Record Chronicle)
Toasty Bros. Beer: Craft beer lovers can now visit Toasty Bros. Beer at 104 N. Bell Ave. This new small-batch brewery focuses on quality brews in a cozy taproom setting, welcoming guests Thursday through Monday for a rotating selection of house-made beers. (Denton Record Chronicle)

Community News

Denton’s Second Target Sets Opening Date
The wait is almost over—Denton’s second Target store is set to open on April 13 at 2755 W. University Drive. Spanning 147,000 square feet, the new location will offer Drive Up, Order Pickup, same-day delivery, and even an Apple at Target section. With around 200 employees, this store aims to serve the growing community, including students from UNT and TWU. This marks Target’s 50th store in the DFW area, with more locations set to open later this year. (Denton Record Chronicle)

Stormy Week Ahead for Denton County: After a sunny start, Denton County is in for a wet week, with thunderstorms expected from Tuesday through Friday, peaking on Thursday and Friday. Rain totals could reach 1 to 2 inches across the region, with some areas seeing up to 3 inches and the possibility of minor flooding. Despite the storms, temperatures will stay warmer than usual, with highs reaching the upper 80s during the midweek. (Denton Record Chronicle)

Taste of North Texas

Golden Triangle Mall, 2201 S Interstate 35, Denton, TX
Don't miss out on the Taste of North Texas event at Golden Triangle Mall, where you can sample food from over 40 local restaurants for one price! Enjoy an evening of delicious dishes and drinks while supporting the Denton Kiwanis Children's Clinic. Admission is $25 in advance for ages 13 and up, and only $15 for ages 6-12. All proceeds benefit the clinic, which has been providing free medical and counseling services to children in northern Denton County since 1923. The event will also feature live music performances from Teddy & The SaddleTramps, Lorrie's Joy, the Denton County Friends of the Family Choir, DHS Jazz Band, and the Guyer High School Choir. Don’t forget to enter the $5 raffle for a chance to win a 60" Samsung Big Screen TV!
