Denton County is expanding with some exciting new businesses! Here are a few upcoming spots you won’t want to miss:

• 🌮 Mexican Oak: Now open on Denton Square, Mexican Oak serves up classics and Mexican-inspired dishes in the former Barley & Board spot.

• 🥯 Dan’s Bagels: Dan’s Bagels is coming soon to Argyle, bringing New York-style sourdough bagels and specialty cream cheeses to US-377.

• ☕ Bruvana Coffee: Bruvana Coffee will open in Flower Mound this fall, offering cold brew specialties and creative drinks at 500 Flower Mound Road.

🎃 Denton Named Halloween Capital of Texas 

Denton has been officially recognized as the Halloween Capital of Texas by the Texas Legislature during its 89th session. This honor comes after the huge success of Denton's first-ever 31 Days of Denton Halloween celebration in 2024, which brought over 660,000 visitors from around the country and beyond. The title will last for the next 10 years, making Denton the go-to spot for all things spooky in Texas.

Community Updates:

• 🚒 Denton Fire Department Deployed to Kerrville: Denton Fire Department’s specialized boat crew has been deployed to Kerrville to assist with search, rescue, and recovery after the devastating Guadalupe River floods. The team recently returned from flood response operations in New Mexico and is now supporting mutual aid efforts in the Texas Hill Country. Their expertise is making a real impact in these challenging situations.

• 🛍️ Highland Village Commercial Growth: The Shops at Highland Village welcomed seven new businesses, including luxury eyewear brand Warby Parker and several other shops. These additions highlight the ongoing growth of Highland Village’s retail scene and bring even more shopping options to the area. Shoppers can look forward to a more vibrant mix of stores this summer.
