Thanks to your enthusiastic feedback, we’re moving forward with the Denton County coupon card, and it looks like the price will be just $10! New Local Business Openings Around Denton County  

Denton County is expanding with some exciting new businesses! Here are a few upcoming spots you won’t want to miss:

• 🌭 Brooklyn Dawgs: Brooklyn Dawgs, serving authentic New York-style hot dogs, curly fries, and cheesecake, recently opened at 119 Ave. A in Denton, next to UNT. They’re quickly becoming a favorite for students and locals, now offering weekday breakfast too.

• 🥩 1911 Beef: 1911 Beef recently opened its storefront in Justin, Denton County. They offer locally-sourced premium beef and have quickly become a go-to spot for quality meats in the area.

• 🍩 Donut Space (Opening Soon): Donut Space is set to open soon at Northlake Crossing, 1633 Robson Ranch Road, Northlake. This new donut shop will bring fresh donuts and sweet treats to the growing Northlake community.

Denton’s Breanna Nix Shines on American Idol Stage 🎤 

Breanna Nix, Denton’s own powerhouse vocalist, soared to national attention by placing third on season 23 of "American Idol" in May 2025. Her soulful performances and authentic stage presence won over both the judges and viewers, making her a standout contestant and a proud ambassador for her hometown. Denton rallied behind her with local celebrations and heartfelt support, turning her Idol journey into a true community triumph.

Community Updates:

• ♻️ Denton Named National Leader in Recycling Quality: Denton Solid Waste and Recycling has established itself as a national leader in recycling quality, reducing the city’s contamination rate from 67% in 2021 to just 8% as of February 2025. This dramatic improvement places Denton among the top municipalities in the nation for effective waste management. The city credits this success to extensive public education efforts and the commitment of residents and business owners to proper recycling practices.
