Denton County is expanding with some exciting new businesses! Here are a few upcoming spots you won’t want to miss:

• 🍔 Gas Monkey Ice House: Now open at Grandscape in The Colony, this lively bar and grill from Richard Rawlings brings hearty Texas fare, cold drinks, and live music to a massive indoor-outdoor space.

• 🍹 Lakeside Bar & Grill: Little Elm’s newest waterfront spot serves up burgers, seafood, and craft cocktails with plenty of patio seating and relaxed lakeside views.

• 🛍️ Nordstrom Rack: Opening fall 2025 in Highland Village at the former Market by Macy’s, Nordstrom Rack will offer big savings on top brands, shoes, and home goods.

📚 Dr. Lori Rapp Earns Top Regional Honor

Lewisville ISD Superintendent Dr. Lori Rapp has been named the 2025 Region 11 Superintendent of the Year, recognized for her visionary leadership, commitment to student success, and dedication to the community. As the first woman to lead LISD, Dr. Rapp now advances to the state competition, representing one of North Texas’ largest school districts.

Community Updates:

• 🦟 Community Update: West Nile Virus Prevention: Denton County Public Health has begun ground fogging operations after detecting three positive West Nile Virus mosquito traps in unincorporated areas, with treatments running nightly through June 30. Residents are encouraged to limit outdoor activity during fogging hours and take precautions like removing standing water and using insect repellent.

• 🏡 Aubrey Housing Development: Lennar has officially opened Highpointe in Aubrey, a new community featuring a pool, playground, trails, sports courts, and a community center designed for comfortable family living. The grand opening was held June 2, welcoming residents to a neighborhood focused on amenities and connection.

Meat, cheese, fruit, snacks, and even the board itself, all made from cookies! This hands on class includes baked sugar cookies, pre mixed royal icing, and all the tools you’ll need to make your own stainless steel cookie scribe with silicone beads. You’ll also receive a printed instruction guide with step-by-step directions and a copy of Mandy’s cookie and icing recipes.
